Photo taken at Ottawa Schmooze #1

On July 22, 2011, Ottawa-area writers and illustrators gathered for SCBWI Canada East's first Ottawa Schmooze. The venue was the Vietnam Palace on Somerset Street, and the program included lunch (delicious!) and conversation with colleagues and friends. The group shared a little show and tell (mostly tell), and compiled a list of favourite kidlit blogs and recent reads.

Seated (l to r): Deborah Jackson, Catherine Austen, Christine Tripp, Annemarie Bourgeois, Tina Rodrigue, Rachna Gilmore, Michelle Jodoin; Standing: Glen Strathy, Melissa Yuan-Innes, Sharon Rudnitski, Jo-Anne Rioux, Ben Hodson, Cathy Graham, Connie Topper, Mark Baker, Sean Avery, Rachel Eugster
