As an author and illustrator, Chris Jackson introduced readers to the world of China Plate Farm. Edmund and Hillary (HarperCollins 1997) began the series. Then came Edmund for Short (HarperCollins 1998), and finally Edmund and Washable (HarperCollins 2000). Since the release of his first book, Chris has taken his farm characters to many classrooms and libraries in Canada’s National Capital Region. More recent projects include: Three Tales of Three (KidsCan Press 2000), a collection of "once-upon-a-time" tales published in Autumn 2000. In 2002, Chris introduced two new characters, Sadie and Dorothy, in The Gaggle Sisters River Tour (Lobster Press 2002).

ISBN: 1894222-58-X

Songster Sadie and her sister Dorothy set sail down the Wriggle River to perform their first concert of the summer season. Diva Sadie is as different from humble Dorothy as night and day, but the sisters must work as a team to prepare for their show.

"Jackson's humour excels when he counters formal turns of phrase with mild sarcasm."
"Cartoon watercolours provide superb characterizations"
