Frieda Wishinsky is the international award–winning author of over forty trade and educational books. Her books have earned critical acclaim on CBC Radio, and in magazines and newspapers around the world. Each One Special (Orca) was nominated for a 1999 Governor General’s Award for text. Please, Louise! (Groundwood) is nominated for the 2008 TD Literature Award for 2008 and is the winner of the Marilyn Baille Picture Book Award.

Frieda’s most recent chapter book is On the Case (Maple Tree Press). Her latest nonfiction title is Everything but the Kitchen Sink: Weird Stuff You Didn’t Know about Food, with co-author Elizabeth MacLeod (Scholastic).
