When the Cherry Blossoms Fell

helps middle-grade readers experience the Japanese-Canadian
internment through the eyes of a child.
In 1985, Jennifer was a member of the
“Explorations” author team at Addison-Wesley
Publishing. She has published materials for the Ontario
Ministry of Education, TVOntario, and the Peel District
School Board. She has received awards from the Federation
of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, the National
School Public Relations Association, and the Canadian
Association of Communicators in Education.
Her "The Story of Momo-Taro"
appeared in Aquila magazine; "Madison’s
Magic Rocks" online in Wee Ones Children’s
Magazine; and "How the Stepmother Got Ugly"
in Crow Toes Quarterly.
Jennifer belongs to CANSCAIP, SCBWI,
and WEN (The Writers and Editors Network) in Mississauga.
Jennifer offers children’s workshops
on "The Disappearing Art of Letter Writing,”
“Deliciously Descriptive Passages," and "The
Story Behind the Story—Japanese-Canadian Internment
in World War II." She offers presentations for
teachers on "Using Literature to Foster Mathematics"
and "Reading Programs with Early Childhood Education
and Primary Teachers."
