Tamara
Schmidt is a freelance illustrator with an educational
background in architecture. She has strong design sensibilities
and enjoys working and experimenting in traditional and
digital media—or a combination of the two. Tamara
finds children's illustration to be a highly imaginative
art form that continually inspires her to discover and
transform the world around her.
Writing classes hosted by Sharon Jennings
and Peter Carver have deepened Tamara’s love of
children's literature and spurred her to create and write
her own stories.
Tamara lives in the west end of the Greater
Toronto Area, but during the summer months can often be
found hiking or boating near the family cottage in Muskoka.
